NEOS was a production with 6 new short plays from young playwrights. These were workshopped, rehearsed and teched in a period of 5 weeks. The production was housed in the Louisiana Room at the Alley Theatre.
The Production Design
The concept for the production was to create a streamline, lo-fi environment where an audience can enrapture multiple worlds in the same space. The set was envisioned to be a box that someone can look into and see the stories come to life. Our final set was made to be a forced perspective box that would morph from play to play with sound, small scenery pieces, movement, and light.

The main goal was to entice the audience by juxtaposing honest reality in the plays with edgy and modernistic lo-fi beats for the overall vision for the production. This playlist shows some of the starting points that I had when trying to create the necessary environment.
